ACT Certified Educator–Basics

The certification holder has completed an ACT Certified Educator–Basics training program and passed a knowledge-based assessment related to fundamental aspects of the ACT Test. These include but are not limited to knowledge of administration, procedures, resources, test security, customer care, score reporting, interpretation, and benchmarks. The certification holder has met the standards set forth by the ACT Certified Educator program and has demonstrated sufficient understanding of: • (1) fundamental aspects of the ACT Exam (that is, aspects related to general test design and administration but not specific to any of the individual subject areas), and; • (2) practical skills and knowledge for tutoring students about the logistics of taking the ACT, general test-taking strategies, and approaches to studying.

ACT Certified Educator–English

The certification holder has completed an ACT Certified Educator–English training program and passed an assessment that measures ability to tutor students on the English section of the ACT Test. The training and assessment include but are not limited to: understanding the ACT English Test structure and content; understanding and recommending test-taking strategies related to ACT English content; and providing individualized tutoring. By completing the ACT Certified Educator–English training and passing the assessment, the certification holder has met the standards set forth by the ACT Certified Educator program and has demonstrated sufficient knowledge to tutor students who are preparing for the ACT English Test.

Certified ACE Trainer–Basics

The certification holder has earned the Certified ACE Trainer–Basics (CAT–B) designation by demonstrating proficiency in the delivery of training for the ACT Certified Educator–Basics (ACE–B) certification program. In addition, the CAT–B certification holder has achieved all requirements of ACE–B certification, including mastering the content of the training program and passing a knowledge-based assessment related to fundamental aspects of the ACT Test. By meeting the CAT–B requirements, the certification holder has met the standards set forth by ACT and has demonstrated the proficiency needed to train others seeking to attain the ACT Certified Educator–Basics credential.

Certified ACE Trainer–English

The certification holder has earned the Certified ACE Trainer–English (CAT–E) designation by demonstrating proficiency in the delivery of training for the ACT Certified Educator–English (ACE–E) certification program. In addition, the CAT–E certification holder has met the requirements of the ACE–E certification, including mastering the content of the training program, passing a content exam in English, and passing a knowledge-based assessment related to the structure and content of the ACT English Test, understanding and recommending test-taking strategies, and providing individualized tutoring. By meeting the CAT–E requirements, the certification holder has met the standards set forth by ACT and has demonstrated the proficiency needed to train others seeking to attain the ACT Certified Educator–English credential.

Certified Math Tutor–ACT

This badge is awarded to individuals who have completed a training program and passed an assessment that demonstrates their ability and competence to tutor students for the Math portion of the ACT Test, including the knowledge and skills to provide test-taking strategies to students.
