This year marks the 24th anniversary of our Agent Banks in Major Markets Survey. Since its inception, the survey has aimed to measure the client perceptions regarding the quality of the clearing, settlement, and asset-servicing duties that their agent banks provide to them. These are measured across three main client segments—Leading, Cross-Border/Non-Affiliated (CB/NA) and Domestic—as well as 48 sub-custody and custody banks (including three ICSDs), covering 26 markets.

Global Custodian has been running its Agent Banks Survey for 25 years. This year, we introduce a new award: Category Outperformer. Banks that have achieved Category Outperformer status are those that have achieved an overall weighted average score in at least one service area that is equal or superior to the weighted average of all scores awarded to all survey participants in that service area. This award is equivalent to the ‘Best-in-Class’ award of previous years, as referenced by the white star on the badge. Global Custodian has been running its Agent Banks Survey for 25 years. Market Outperformer is a new award, introduced in 2014 for all three Agent Banks surveys, and is represented by the gold rosette on the badge. Banks that have achieved Market Outperformer status are those whose overall weighted score is equal or superior to the weighted average of total scores awarded to banks within a particular market (major, emerging or frontier).
